Marlene Diakanua

(she/her)

Marlene is a mesmerising French-Congolese poet living in Melbourne since 2018. Through the overwhelming pain of heartbreak, she lost not only herself but also family members and a partner. In an attempt to cope with her broken heart, she decided to put her pain on paper. She fearlessly delves into themes of love, desire, and the human body in her evocative verses. Marlene’s poetry is a bridge between cultures and souls, encouraging us to explore our own depths.

Sensuality is central to Marlene’s art, challenging societal taboos and celebrating the human experience.

Onstage, Marlene’s performances are a captivating fusion of poetry and theatre. She wears her heart on her sleeve, inviting audiences on a cathartic journey through the spectrum of human emotions. With Marlene as our guide, we embark on an odyssey celebrating the beauty of love, the intensity of desire, and the sanctity of our bodies.
