GRACIEUSE AMAH

Dancer & Creative Director

With Beninese, Togolese and French heritage, Gracieuse Amah is an Event Manager, Curator, French Intellectual Property Lawyer, Community Leader, Dancer-Choreographer and Creative Director of social enterprise Kwabo Events. Specialised in the production of performing, live and visual arts forms, Gracieuse is herself a passionate dancer of African dances since the young age of 8. She has performed internationally in Australia and France and has been facilitating African dance workshops since 2002.

Using arts as a medium over the past 12 years, Grace advocates for social inclusion, gender and cultural equity, interculturalism, women’s and youth empowerment as well as new migrants’ settlement. Wherever she goes, her drive to give back to the community and make a positive impact in the lives of others through collaborative arts is the cornerstone of her work and art practice. From France to Australia, her extensive project repertoire includes national music festivals (“Fête de la Musique” 2011), international youth empowerment congress (FOREJE 2014), civic volunteering programs, community and civic dance performances (Walk against Family Violence 2018, Moomba Festival 2019) and bilingual dance workshops (French Bilingual Association). Her last dance piece “Afrodance, Who are you?” was performed at House the Feels 2019 which was an embodied love declaration to Afrodance and an historic memoire of modern African dances.
